A few comments, taken directly from the questionnaires, are included below:
- Ronald P. Oman - Redwood Valley, CA.
- Nice Guy -
professional!
- Kent Berklund - Seward, AK.
- Bob knows the river and
fish very well. When we have chartered our success rate has been 75-80%,
much higher than the average. This is fairly serious fishing and Bob tried
to make sure that we caught fish and had a good time. His knowledge of the
area and its history makes the trip a lot of fun!
- Jim Durtschi - Anchorage, AK.
- I have fished with Bob for
2 years running and both times I have caught 60# plus of king salmon. He
is very professional, and a story or two helps lighten the rainy days.
- Kenneth Kirkwood - Stielcoom, WA.
- If you want a
pleasant, enjoyable trip and catch some great fish - call Bob Estes. If
you want a lot of fluff and eyewash - call somebody else! Bob is
everything you expect or could want in a fishing guide. He is a "must
meet".
- Charles Davis - Tuscon, AZ.
- I, Charlie Davis, have
fished for king salmon with Moby King Charters and Bob Estes on the Kenai
River for the past 3 years. I have netted 1 - 49 lb., 1 - 50 lb. and last
year 1 - 77 lb. king. Of the three hundred guides that fish for kings on
the Kenai, I think Bob is #1. No one knows the river better and he knows
the river hot spots. Where ever Bob puts out his lines, a fleet of other
boats soon join him. If I get back to Alaska you can surely find me with
Bob on the second run of large ones!
- Gary Ackerson - Seward, AK.
- Fishing in Alaska,
especially locations such as the Kenai River, should be done with a guide
who knows what he or she is doing. Some of us are lucky enough to fish or
hunt this state of Alaska while other travel long distances to fish the
great king salmon. With a good guide a person can fish and go home with a
great experience with or without catching a fish. The so-so guides can
ruin your good time for years.
